Building Resilient, Adaptive, Inclusive Neuroeducation
B.R.A.I.N—Building Resilient, Adaptive, Inclusive Neuroeducation— is an education framework that aligns K-12 education to nurture the whole child—mind, body, and brain.
Is it informed by science so that the brain’s developing architecture guides the curriculum.
In a globalized, digitally interconnected, and technologically advanced society, it is imperative our children become the beneficiaries of the breakthroughs in neuroscience and psychology. Equally urgent is the undeniable global mental health crisis.
Education is a primary equalizer in society. However, children around the world are marginalized not due to a deficiency in intelligence but because their brains process information in diverse ways. Neurological diversity, mental health challenges, and trauma are inadequately addressed in education systems.
Few education systems screen for neurodiversity, train teachers in trauma-informed or brain-based learning strategies, or align curricula with the science of memory, emotion, and attention. As a result, students are left to struggle in environments that don’t support how their brains learn best. Families and educators, too, are often under-equipped—lacking the tools, training, and support to respond effectively.
B.R.A.I.N. encourages policymakers, education leaders, and global alliances to apply this evidence-based approach in policy. It emphasizes the mental well-being of K-12 children as a priority, nurturing neurodiversity, and providing resources to support individualized learning.
